MEET THE BEES

Tamer Ashry’s our CEO and the man who can do both; working and entertainment. Besides his love for Kitesurfing, Ashry first started with a great passion for visual art and storytelling this is what drew him to filmmaking early in life. For twenty years now, he has been working as a director, producer, and scriptwriter in fiction films, documentaries, and television in the Middle East. Ashry has always used his sixth sense and third eye to see what is hidden in people's eyes and lives and that was his main inspiration for his work. Drawing from his own experience and observation, he went on to direct his first narrative feature film ‘Photocopy’ based on an elderly man’s re-discovery of life. The film has made the rounds at international festivals where it received numerous awards, among which are; Best Arab Feature at El Gouna Film Festival, Best Feature at Tripoli - Lebanon, and the Audience Award for Best Film at Malmö Arab Film Festival. Following the success of ‘Photocopy’, Ashry’s second film is ‘Eyebrows’, a short film that follows two niqab-clad women throughout their day in a shopping mall. It has also won Best Arab Short at El Gouna Film Festival (GFF). Ashry also served as a producer in a number of other films. In 2015, he worked as a line producer in a feature fiction film called ‘Nawara’ starring Menna Shalabi and directed by Hala Khalil. Nawara has won Best Actress at the Dubai International film festival. Tamer also directed and produced work for Emmy and Oscar-winning filmmakers Gini Reticker, and Thomas Lennon.

Mostafa Salah or as we love to call him MOSO, and the one who loves Sea the most! Moso has worked as one of the leading production managers in Egypt for over 10 years. He is the Co-Founder and COO of BEE Media. He began his career as an editor and quickly realized that his talent lies in working with large teams to run a tight ship: he is renowned for undertaking ambitious projects and maximizing resources to deliver excellent-quality content. His commercial clients now include Vodafone, Lipton, Danone, Orange, Unilever as well as many UN campaigns. He has also worked as a Production Manager on some of the largest feature fiction films, Reality TV, and Talk Shows in Egypt, including Eshtebek (Clash - nominated at Cannes), Fair Game, Da Kalam (The word), Adet Regala (Men’s Talk), El Khazna (The Safe), and Rahein 3ala Fein (Where are you going).

ZEINA EISSA

Zeina Eissa is a producer and director. After obtaining her bachelors degree, she studied Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in 2012 and started her career by working in several short movies in Los Angeles. Zeina produced five of the most influential national and regional campaigns in the Middle East that addressed social problems such as Bullying, Violence, Human Trafficking, Parenting and FGM in partnership with multiple UN agencies. She is also the executive producer of ‘Ahl El Hetta’, an Egyptian TV series, “Eyebrows”Short Movie which won the Gouna Star Award for the Best Arab Short and has directed a number of short documentaries, corporate videos and online Ads. Her latest as an EP is "It Takes a Village '' film; a documentary that won Best Short at NYMA, Best Film with Impact at AIWFF and won the Newgate Inspiration Award at TWEFF.

A producer by day and horse rider by night! That is our Producer Habeebah Wahb. Habeebah graduated with a Bachelor's in Film, TV, and Digital Media Production from Regent’s University in London then decided to hit the media road as a production assistant in London, her urge to learn made her explore different opportunities around the world, including in Egypt. After a lifetime of living abroad in the USA and UK, gaining experience with companies including the BBC, Spectrecom Films, and JWT; she decided to settle down in Cairo in 2021, where she joined our team as a Line Producer. She amazed us by producing a range of campaigns and ads for top NGOs including UNICEF, the World Health Organization, IOM, and more. After lots of effort, she earned it and won “Best Short Documentary” at the New York Movie Awards as a Producer for “It Takes a Village” documentary.

SELVIA FOKIEH

PRODUCER

Selvia is a night owl who still loves mornings, but aside from being fun, and sarcastic sometimes, she is a multi talented producer who holds a master degree in Media and leadership from ECTE. She graduated from the faculty of commerce in 2012, to discover her passion for media when she worked as a radio presenter, and ever since she started to dig more in the field, so she studied scriptwriting, direction and dubbing, all beside her being talented in singing and drawing which paved the way for her to work as a producer. She was the line producer for 5 seasons with Discovery educations, worked as a producer (project with orascom), and as an assistant director for program El -familia with Ahmed Amin. In 2021, she joined Bee Media productions as a producer, and worked in many projects with Unicef, WHO, GIZ, El-Sewedy, and many others. And being eager to be the voice for voiceless people, she still has a lot to tell.

Basma Bashier Barakat also known as Triple B and cat lover lady. Basma’s love for storytelling and creative ideas drove her to join our team at BEE as a Content Producer. Basma got her bachelor's in Marketing. Due to her high learning curve, she was able to gain a lot of experience through her career path that got her involved in a wide variety of industries and brands. She worked with IOM, UNICEF, ELSewedy, Selah ElTelmeez, Dice, Carina, Shatta, and many more, she also executed production and social media campaigns. Basma has a multicultural mindset due to her work in different countries than Egypt. Her creativity, openness for trials, and childish soul is all that you need to get the most unexpected ideas.
